Welcome to the ‘Disk Maze Playground Challenge using Virtual Robot’ course. In this course, you will learn important Computer Science principles and fundamentals. Virtual Robotics is a way to enrich the Computer Science experience which allows students to stay engaged with robotics, even if they do not have a physical robot nearby.
Additionally, this course contains features designed to help you learn and to make STEM and Computer Science accessible. These features include ease of use, immediate feedback, the ability to make learning visible, and help in developing various skills like Critical Thinking, Creativity, problem-solving, memorization.
This Virtual Robot is equipped with sensors, controls, and many physical features. In this course, the robot is already preconfigured. This eliminates the need for a robot configuration or a predetermined template project that you would normally have to use with a physical robot.
VR allows students to continue to learn the same programming language that is used in many other Virtual Robotics programs or projects. And, students can also learn how sensors can be utilized with robots to create complex (and fun) behaviors.
The process of developing coding solutions with a robot provides a relevant context for engaging students in CS. Robots utilize physics and sensors in addition to CS further integrating Computer Science into STEM.
